"The Tang Empress" is a Tang Dynasty-inspired musical and dance performance that tells the historical story of Empress Wu Zetian from her selection as a court lady at the age of 14 to her coronation as the empress at the age of 67. The show was masterminded by Zhou Bing, the chairman of Shaanxi Tourism Group, and directed by Li Hanzhong. The performance is divided into five acts: "Ladies Waiting for Selection", "Trespassing into the Wende Palace", "Wars", "The Two Sages Reigning Together", and "Coronation".
Show Highlights
Tang Music Palace is inspired by the “Five Musics and Eight Musics” and “Hall of Joy” of the Tang Dynasty. The exquisite imitation of Tang music and dance performance is a traditional classic for foreign guests to understand Xi’an! The live accompaniment of the classical orchestra and the live solo of the Tang Dynasty panpipes ensure the artistic level and taste of the performance.
